The Nature has been a great source of inspiration for contemporary designers. Bringing the natural atmosphere of rice and paddy fields to modern homes, Taiwanese DHH Studio has developed a creative seat named the “Straw Stool” that apart from enhancing home decor also helps in sustaining the environment as it can be disposed without having an effect on the surroundings.
Designed by Gina Hsu and Nagaaki Shaw, the stool (as the name suggests) makes use of natural substances such as rice, grain and straw to finish the seating. The natural materials of the seating have been strengthened with epoxy resin which makes it trendy as well as durable. Developed as a community program to conserve the conventional farming customs of the Jenju village, the Straw stool explores the textural traits of the natural materials, giving a refreshing look to the interior decoration.
