Seriously, I don’t get it. You might as well name it pizza for all I care; and that has even more chutzpah. But hey what’s there in the name, so long as the product’s ok, right? So without more nonsense, I present to you Cake. Coming from Thailand-based Moban, this furniture piece is actually a collection of a table and five stools. There are no prizes for guessing what it draws inspiration from. A central stainless steel and tempered glass table has legs that are designed to accommodate five low stools and thereby form a circular pattern when assembled. Like pieces of cake, these stools can be pulled away and placed as per will. A simplistic design is reinforced as a product with the use of recyclable plastic and waterproof and UV resistant polyamide-jersey base cloth in the stools. This means that Cake is as suited in a coffee house as say in an open-air restaurant. It is also perfect for little seating arrangement in a balcony. Doonyapol Srichan (the designer) could have done even better had he provided little backrests. But even without that, Cake is minimalist furniture that saves space and looks great while doing so.
