Who could have imagined that peeling ply could be fashionable! That’s exactly what the designer duo Richard Shed and Alex Taylor have come up with in their ‘Discovery’ Door/Drawer Unit System, that has peeling ply as the central point of its design. These door or drawer unit systems are not different from your usual storage units, other than this concept of using laminated peeled corner to beautify them. The concept is that the lacquered MDF internal drawers are in a different, often contrasted, color than the exterior. Through the peeled corners, one can have a sneak peek into the bright color of the interior drawers. For example, in the drawer unit below, the red visible through the peeled corners look quite eye-catchy. And you can use the peeled corners to pull the doors open as well. As you can see, these units are available in bright colors besides the usual ‘wood’ finish. So choose one that goes well with your home décor. Quite a unique idea.
