Grand Prize Winner: Marcello Zuffo kitchen concept.

Designers around the globe seem to have decided that they will not stop surprising us with their innovative concepts and unique products. Small apartments for example demand smart and chic designs. Kitchen being the hub of the house, needs to be trendy, hi-tech, compact and smart. While we have witnessed prolific concepts, the designers don’t seem to be in a mood to stop.

Electrolux ICON and Interior Design Magazine organized a the $100K Kitchen Design contest and challenged the designers to come up with thoughtful concepts for a kitchen that meets the changing needs of today’s modern families. Okay, now the good news is that the winners have been announced. Below are the results:

Grand Prize Winner: Marcello Zuffo from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida who prevailed with a futuristic kitchen design with movable components that continuously adapt to the changing needs of the modern family.

Second Prize Winners: Kim Letven and Nada Bibi of WE Design in Brooklyn, NY. They came up with seamless integration of indoor and outdoor space.

Third Prize Winner: The third prize went to Gisue Hariri, of Hariri and Hariri Architecture-New York for her futuristic kitchen design, boasting of modern aesthetics and an efficient use of space, ideal for today’s multitasking families.
