One of the most unique and cutest piece of furniture I have set my eyes on in recent times. In case you have been wondering what these little things covered in snow are, let me tell you they are stools that also serve as containers. The Snow Stools by Baek-Ki Kim have been inspired by the jars that Koreans use to store a traditional Korean delicacy, Kimchi (or Kimchee or Gimchi), a fermented dish of vegetables with varied seasonings. Care has been taken to make the stools resemble as closely as possible the Kimchi jars lined in the terrace during snowfall.

Contrary to the visual implication, the ‘snow’ cushion is comfortingly warm and cozy to sit on. The credit for that goes to the Polyethylene Foam the cushions are made out of. The stools made of plastic (blow mould or gas injected polypropylene) is recyclable and thus, wonderfully eco-friendly. Other than being a piece of furniture, the seat of the stool can be taken off to store stuff inside the hollow interior. So stash the odds and ends lying here and there taking up space inside the Snow Stools and nobody can guess it.
