International Design Excellence Awards (IDEAs) for 2008 have been announced and we’d talk about one of the winners here. Coming from Brazil, SuperPop is a semi-automatic washing machine concept. It has been conceptualized by Mueller Eletrodomésticos. Small and cute, SuperPop comes up with a user-friendly approach and a neat design. It is good enough to wash up to 3kg of dry clothes at a pop. SuperPop is filled up manually and can easily be connected to a tap. The machine can be programmed to shut down once cycle ends and a 15-minute timer with four different programs ably handles all that. The best thing about SuperPop is that it can even be disassembled leading to easy storage and convenient transportation.

Wo wo wo, I for a sec thought it to be a trash can, a beautiful one that is, it’s small and so un-conventional, simply amazes me.
I did think it to be a trash can but no offense meant to the designer, it’s a brilliant design and is an absolute winner, nice to see products worth the credit getting their due.
It does look like a trash can granted. And yes a beautiful one at that.
What is especially good to see Nishant is that the design comes from a developing nation. It is hearty to see that smaller nations are driving innovation in this connected world.
That is what promises most for the still deprived people.
